The rest of the song reflects on how he felt during the fights with her. This is all in the first minute and 45 seconds of the song. But, although her coldness has hurt him he comes to terms with it and acknowledges the memories of these 'robotic' antics towards him are something he had to accept and love as they are now apart of him and he will be moulded even more-so as a man by embracing the experience. He then addresses that she chose to be this way towards him and he must accept it. Regardless he still wants to show his appreciation for the relationship but simultaneously wants to punish her for being so unfeeling towards him and not caring or appreciating about what he does in his life. He titles her as robot as by the end of the relationship she has become cold and emotionless towards him and can no longer feel love.

He is then asking her to truly express herself and acknowledges that the fighting will never stop and tells her she will truly find herself when she breaks free of the relationship. while in the moment he was peeved and couldn't stand it, but now see's it wasn't so bad as he would love just to be in that situation with her again due to not appreciating what you have until it's gone. He then reflects on their fights in which he could barely get a word in and did his best to show her that he wouldn't give up on the relationship.
He also realises that there is no going back. Upon reflecting on it he knows that the break up was inevitable and has learned to no longer beat himself up about it. The beginning of the verse referencing a teacher pupil relationship is signifying that he attempted to act younger than he was in attempt to make the relationship work in which she accepted to his delight. here is my interpretation on what the song is about. As we know the majority of songs are about the failed relationship between Anthony and his ex due to the age gap and this stuck out for me in this song. Listening I think the lyrics on this song is one of the best on the album when deciphered.
